3D more reliable than 2D??

I attempted to create the image using 2D software.

I'm not as comfortable using Apple Motion as I am with Electric Image, but I think I'm safe to say that it shouldn't be producing images like these...

Can't see anything here...

Little better here, but looks to have gotten bored at the bottom.

    the bottom screen is how a lot of my space invaders games ended...
